How to Solve an Arrow Puzzle Without Random Taps

A reliable solver does not memorize a picture. It reduces the board to four habits: read the arrowhead, trace the lane, remove a confirmed candidate, and rebuild the candidate list. These habits work on short straight arrows and on long paths with several bends.

Read the head and its exit lane

Find the triangular arrowhead first. Its final segment gives one of four directions: up, right, down, or left. Starting from the head cell, look straight toward the matching board edge. Only cells on that ray can stop the move; empty space beside the body does not make the arrow safe.

Bent bodies create most visual confusion. They look as though they might sweep through neighbouring cells, but this game moves them like a train following its own rails. The head leads off the board and the body drains along the path it already owns. Check the head lane, not the outline around every bend.

Turn blockers into an order

When arrow A faces a cell occupied by arrow B, write the relationship mentally as B before A. You do not need to solve the entire dependency network in advance. Find one arrow with no blocker, remove it, and let the changed board reveal the next layer.

Some positions offer several legal choices. That is useful rather than suspicious. Choose a safe arrow that crosses or occupies several other exit lanes, because removing it is likely to unlock more candidates. If two choices are equally useful, either can begin a valid route.

Rescan after every exit

Do not keep following a plan created from an older board state. One departing arrow may clear more than one row or column, making arrows on opposite sides of the board legal at the same time. Pause after the animation, start at the arrowheads again, and confirm the current lanes.

A short rescan is faster than recovering from a guess. On a dense board, keep only two or three candidates in mind. Confirm the shortest lane first, select one arrow, then discard the old candidate list and build a new one from the remaining pieces.

Use hints as a learning tool

Easybrain's official help says a hint highlights an arrow that can safely leave the current grid. Before selecting it, trace the lane yourself and identify why it is free; the hint then teaches the rule instead of becoming a blind tap.

Work backwards from the edge, one layer at a time

The phrase work backwards can be misleading if it suggests guessing the final move. A more precise method is to start at every arrowhead near an edge and inspect the cells in front of it. An arrow with an empty lane is available now; an arrow with a blocker belongs to a later dependency layer.

After removing an available arrow, reconsider the blocked arrows whose lanes crossed its old cells. Those are the most likely newly available moves. This local update is easier than rescanning every path from tail to head, especially when the board contains long loops and visually dense crossings.

The level walkthroughs show one deterministic order produced by the same legality rule. When a board permits branches, the guide also records the range of safe choices seen during the solver run. Avoid the three most common solving mistakes

The first mistake is following the arrow body instead of the head lane. The body may bend left and right, but its travel direction is fixed by the head. Always begin the check at the head endpoint and continue straight toward the edge.

The second mistake is treating edge position as proof of safety. An arrowhead near the edge usually has a short lane, yet even one occupied cell is enough to block it. The third mistake is refusing to update a planned sequence after the board changes. A correct second move can become unnecessary when a different first move opens a new branch.

Random tapping hides the reason a move failed. When an arrow turns red, use it as a diagnostic marker: trace its lane, identify the first occupied cell, and solve that blocker. The red state is useful information, and the no-double-penalty rule gives you room to inspect the same dependency without losing another life.
